LOVE + MONEY
/When it comes to romance and finance my love and I rate high in chemistry on both fronts (in my opinion).
What does a high rating in FINANCE mean?
Well, a poll by RBC found that to have a successful long-term relationship you need to have financial compatibility, as well as the romantic chemistry.
When I met my love there was an immediate attraction. But we took it slow…a few months of weekly dates let me learn more about the hot and smart man I was so interested in.
It didn’t take long to see his thoughtful and caring side, along with his ability to communicate… I found myself head over heels.
BUT!!!
I could not easily learn much about his habits with money at the early stage of getting to know one another.
I had to ask some thoughtful questions and be vigilant, paying attention to his daily actions to really see whether we could make it work long-term.
“The majority of Canadians with partners (85%) felt that having SIMILAR FINANCIAL GOALS and HABITS was a prerequisite to their healthy, long-term relationships.
Four-in-five (80%) believed it was important to SPEAK WITH a prospective partner about finances BEFORE getting involved in a serious relationship, according to RBC 2020 Relationships & Money Insights Poll.”
So far so good for our long-term success…it’s been 10 years!
